Jesus,Pharisees, Disciples, and Tax Collectors

The four different kinds of people are this:
The one person who is important is Jesus. He is our Savior. He is the ultimate example of how we should be. However, he alone is God, and we are not. Therefore just as Romans says, "We all fall short of the glory of God." So we cannot be Jesus at all times without constant repentance.

The second type of person is the Disciples. The disciples were a group of men, who were walking in their own desires and own way, when Jesus came to them and said, "Follow me." They all left all that they knew to train and study under Jesus. However, they still struggled back and forth between being like Tax Collectors and Pharisees at times.

The third type of person is Tax Collectors. They were known as the sinners. They knew they are sinners. The reason I use tax collector is because it is relevant to these few chapters. However, they were the sinners who were lowly in knowledge of "Philosophy and Religion", but were knowledgeable of things of the world. They were aware of their sin and were not prideful in the presence of Jesus as the Pharisees were.

The fourth type of person is the Pharisee. The Pharisee was also a sinner. They were not saved by grace rather they were the super religious, who knew education and knowledge, but were self-righteous and often did not see their need for Jesus to help them. They try to get to God on their own power, knowledge, and strength through good works.

Now, let us look at a few passages of scripture. We can fall into all four categories at times, because disciples strive through the Holy Spirit to be like Jesus, but sometimes default back to Tax Collector and Pharisee. Which are you? And why?
